Dear Users,

Please look in attachment for updated filtering demo.

Please note that there are still bugs presented and demo must be run with themes ON.

Please sorry for small delay with BETA, I am working every day on it (and also dealing with packages and help file).

Hi,

Yes, it will be added, same as in v5. Will try to add almost all features from v5 + new. Maybe I will remove some features that nobody use.

Dear Users,

I have attached a updated Filtering Demo of NextGrid 6.

Attached File  filter demo.zip   1.72MB   72 downloads

I hope that you like the progress so far. Many things are hidden, but you may see the visual part.

New features, introduced in v6:
- Auto-calculations. if AutoCalculate is set to True, Footer formulas will be automatically calculated on every change. Currently Sum, Avg, Count are working.
- You may "escape" from editing cell with using Arrow Up/Arrow Down keys (for Memo column, you must be positioned on first/last row). Very neat feature I think.
- Auto Best-fit. You may fit column and/or row after each change - automatically! Check a Memo column

Important Notes:
- Windows XP/Vista/7/8 Themes must be ON. Classic mode will be added easily soon.
- DateColumn (and picker) is still in progress. Some flickering is visible, now working on it.
- Sort arrows will be added soon.

I will like to hear any feedback. Please note that some bugs may occur.

As far I can see there are no memory leaks, since I have take special care on it from start :)

Dear Users,

I have added a FixedColCount property to View (FixedCols property in v5), but also added a FixedRowCount (!). I hope that this will be nice feature to have.

Soon I will publish demo with this feature.

Dear Users,

I have attached one more version of NextGrid v6 demo.

It work better and better every day.

- Filtering is improved and faster
- FixedRow is added! Please click on button on right side of form. This feature is still in development.
- InsertRow react on mouse and keyboard, for first time!

Please note: there are still a bugs present, and I am working on them daily.

I am again sorry for my delay with Beta, but I want to made it more stable before releasing Beta. As I may see there are no memory leaks and code is extremely well organised. My best work so far.

Best regards

Hi Boki

Can't start the Demo. Get an exception:

Error reading NxdateColumn61.InsertString: "12/30/1899" is not a valid date and time.

We've another datetime-format here :)

Now its working fine. Looks good, gratulation.
I found a small display-bug:
Click into a cell (like firstname), and then enable/disable "Show Grid". Now you have the edit ontop of the value.
And if you filter, the rows are not correct colorized (two rows with the same color among themselves). Perhaps you have to repaint the hole grid after each filtering, but this is maybe computationally intensive... so... dont know if this is really a bug ;)

Aha, will fix it now.

While filtering, index of rows are keep (row is marked as filtered) so inside cell coloring event, index is read. Maybe I should have a VisibleIndex instead. Will need to think about it more.

Dear Users,

I have attached a screenshot of new editor.

It is not yet finished, but working on it. I will most probably add a old resizing indicator column too.

There is one big news:
----
- Please notice a button under icon of First Name column. After user click on this button, some kind of dialog-wizard will be open with most important properties for this column. Developer will be able to set this properties in standard wide controls (not searching them in ObjectInspector all the time).

For example, if you are having a Rate column. You basically most need a EmptyGlyph and Glyph properties. For checkbox column, you need FalseText and TrueText and so on.
