I figured it out. I selected the wrong control. I accidentally used the v5 edit control but needed v6.

Can you provide an example of how to use inplace edit?

Can an inplace edit be larger than the cell it's in?  So for example if I have a small cell, but I want to have a text control appear when editing that's larger so the user can see what's been entered or what they're typing.

Edit: The only way I've been able to make it larger than the cell is to set the inplace edit to align it right or left or top or bottom or client. If I use align none it makes it the size of the cell, which makes a memo inplace edit unreadable if viewing text that was previously entered.

Hi,

I suggest reading http://developer.ber...=683&lang=en-usand using InplaceEditInsert event. Maybe you can try to simply se Width there?

If you can wait for couple of more days I can build small demo for you?

Sorry again for delay

Boki,

No problem, I'll try your suggestion.  Don't worry about the demo, if I get stuck I'll let you know.  Thanks!

** Edit:  Adjusting the Left/Right Width/Height in Grid.InplaceEditInsert doesn't seem to work. It is like it was before, the size of the cell.

Hi,

I will probably need to make demo (at least for myself) to figure how this can be done.

It sounds like nice feature to have.

Hi,

In next release there will be new event for this. For now it's called OnInplaceEditBounds. I will include it in release notes.

Hi,

I can test it couple of days and then I can send you source code if you want.
