Greetings, 

 

Currently our product is running with XE2 (5.4.3) but am considering updating the application to a current version of components.  What roadblocks am I going to face? I realize it depends on the application (and my programming skill sets), but before I go down that road, I wanted to reach out for advice. Like I mentioned, the product runs fine now.  I am just thinking of updating it to the latest source. I have attached a portion of one pas file so you can see what components I was using. Is there an update to the components? Or will I need to rewrite the code.

There are several changes, and if you didn't done some very specific adaptations you should be fine in most cases.

 

What I suggest is that you install both versions in your Delphi and try the v6 version side by side and in smaller portions. NextGrid v5 (and before) was made long time ago, and was not suitable for easy changes. Version 6 is also much better documented (see help.bergsoft.net).

 

You can start, and then maybe I can help you along the way.

 

You probably want to start with one component first?
