Hello Emailaya,
I need to say that with v2.2.2 of InvisionPower Board there are a lot less spamers due to new registration image algorithm. But, I am still manually enable users after they register.
Best regards

so u say i should just use v2.2.2 of InvisionPower?
not sure i understood:
But, I am still manually enable users after they register
so u say u have a full control on who registers and who is not?
that's the best thing,no?
it means there is no way to spammers to get in

my only problem with phpbb was the spammers
so if there i can enable new users manually
before they can post then its fine with me

I played around with phpBB once or twice, and if I'm not mistaken that option should exist.
It's where you can choose how registration goes (always alow, use e-mail to complete registration, and verify registration manually).
When someone registers for the formum the account is only activated when an administrator confirms the registration.
It's been a while so I can't exactly tell you where the option is located ...

I didn't have a single spam registration in phpBB since I use that mod (for over a year now):
